Back in August I visited les Jardins d'eau for a birthday treat. It is a beautiful and tranquil place, buzzing with insects and frogs which add to the interest to wealth of lush plants and flowers.
The well defined paths guide you through a series of mostly informal gardens, the majority of which are designed around babbling brooks, ponds and a series of boardwalks suspended above a lake. This part of the garden gives the feeling that you are amongst the lily pads.
Arriving early meant that we missed the holiday crowds - as ever, dogs are welcome. After your visit there is a small shop and a greenhouse where you can buy plants and souvenirs.
We finished up my birthday outing with a lovely meal at a local restaurant on the way home in Carnac - as you can see this was flower themed too!
